Office Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who may accompany a child to the appointment?

A: For the initial appointment, a parent or legal guardian MUST accompany the child to the appointment. Only the paren/tlegal guardian can give the full history that leads to the correct diagnosis and make important decisions with us regarding any testing that might be necessary.
For subsequent appointments, parent/legal guardian's presence is strongly preferred. If circumstances do not permit the presence of a parent or legal guardian, then a signed letter giving permission to a responsible adult is permissible if the office is notified in advance.

Q: What forms of payment are accepted?

A: Cash and checks are accepted. Cash and checks are accepted. We now also accept credit cards, debit cards, and health savings account cards.

Q: When are new and established patients scheduled?

A: Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Appointments for new patients are given before 3 pm. In this way, more appointments are available for established patients from 3 to 5 pm (after school) so the children do not need to miss school after the initial appointment.

Q: Does the office call to confirm appointments?

A: Yes, we have an automated call confirmation service as well as texts and email confirmations. We ask for you permission to do so. These are provided as a courtesy and you are ultimately responsible for keeping track of the appointment date and time.

Q: What if I need to reschedule the appointment?

A: At least 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule the appointment. A call on the same day cancelling the appointment will be treated as a missed appointment. If a new appointment is missed, it will not be rescheduled. A $50 charge applies for a missed appointment.

Q: What is the medication refill policy?

A: Enough refills are given until the next appointment if we are allowed to give refills legally. For ADHD stimulant medications (Adderall, Concerta, Daytrana Dexedrine, Focalin, Focalin XR, Methylphenidate, Ritalin), we can only write for a 30 day supply. Please call us 7 days in advance so we can get the prescription to you. Please also realize that we are in the office just 3 days per week. If you need the prescription right away, your pediatrician or family doctor may be willing to provide it. We send your primary care doctors our office notes regarding your child's visit to your doctor.
